                                                              No, not the captain!

           1 - What is your name and your nick in Hcrealms?    
            Qual seu nome e seu nick no Hcrealms?

I am one of those strange people that has one name for everything. My real name is Howard Brock and my user name for HCRealms, WizKids, and HCO is Howard Brock also. I only have one other famous name and this is OLD_Lion from Age of Conquerors, a online RTS game I used to play a lot of.

PT: Eu sou uma dessas pessoas estranhas que tem um nome para tudo. Meu nome real é Howard Brock, e meu nome de usuário para o HCRealms, Wizkids, e Heroclix Online é Howard Brock tambem.

2 - When, where and with who you started to play heroclix?
            Quando, onde e com quem você começou a jogar heroclix?

I begin playing Heroclix sometime in 2003. I begin playing at home with my sons. My youngest son (Easton) was 7 years old at that time. We came across an old Infinity Challenge starter set at a local Book store and purchased it along with a few Xplosion boosters they had in the store. We played that night on the kitchen table and the next night and the night etc. etc. We went back to the book store and bought more until there was nothing left so we had to find another place to purchase Heroclix. I went online to Heroclix.com and found a local comic book store. We went there and purchased more stuff and begin playing there.

PT: Eu comecei jogando heroclix em algum momento de 2003. Eu comecei jogando em casa com meus filhos. Meu filho mais novo Easton(tambem jogador renomado de Clix) tinha 7 anos na epoca. Nós passamos por uma antiga starter de Infinity Challenge em uma loja local de livros e compramos junto com alguns boosters de Xplosion. Jogamos aquela noite na mesa da cozinha e na próxima noite denovo, e denovo e denovo. Nós voltamos para a loja e compramos mais alguns até acabarem todos, então tivemos que achar uma outra loja para comprar Heroclix. Eu fui online no Heroclix.com e encontrei uma loja de comic local. Fomos lá e compramos mais coisas, e começos a lá.

3 - How you would describe heroclix?

Como você descreveria heroclix?

Heroclix is Super Heroes chess game with massive team build combinations and scenarios that rely on a players skills of team building and real time strategy plus the luck of dice.

PT: Heroclix é um xadrez de super heróis com grande combinações de times e cenários que dependem das abilidades dos jogadores de construção de times e estratégia em tempo real e sorte nos dados.

4 - What is your game style?

Qual seu estilo de jogo? 

I like to attack forward but maintain a defensive position.

PT: Eu gosto de atacar forte mas mantendo uma posição defensiva.

5 - What were your main achievements?

Quais são suas maiores conquistas?

I have placed 9th in the World Championships. I have won major events at conventions that include Dragon Con, Origins, and Gen Con. I was the number one ranked player in the world on HCO before it went offline.

PT: Fiquei em 9th lugar no mundial. Tambem ganhei alguns outros grandes eventos como Dragon Con, Origins e Gen Con. Eu era o jogador numero 1 de Heroclix Online antes dele ficar offline.

6 - Do you think heroclix its “pay to win”?

Você acha que heroclix é "pay to win"?

That is a tricky question. I think the current meta requires the use of expensive figures. Those being entities for the most part. Currently I would say that now and for the last year that competitive play has been more expensive than any other time since the game began. Certainly there has always been a higher price value on some figures but never to the extent that now exists. I think this will greatly change and things become normal again as soon as War of Light retires.

PT: Essa é uma pergunta capciosa. Eu acho que o meta atual requer o uso de peças caras. Essas sendo as entidades na maioria das vezes. Atualmetne eu diria que agora e pelo ano passado, que o jogo competitivo está mais caro que qualquer outra vez. Certamente sempre tem sempre teve peças de valor mais alto, mas nada que se extenda ao que existe hoje. Eu acho que isso vai mudar e ficar normal denovo quando War of Light se aposentar.

7 - do you think its an expensive hobbie?

Você acha que é um hobby caro?

I think all hobbies are expensive. Golf, Magic, Online Gaming. All can be expensive. Expense is defined by the player and how much he desires to collect and play competitively. I am both an avid collector and also love to compete. So for me it can be expensive. My son and I share our collection so that helps some with the cost. I think Heroclix falls in the middle when compared to other hobbies.

PT: Eu acho que todos os hobbies são caros. Golf, Magic, Jogos Oline. todos podem ser caros. Caro é definido por quando um jogador deseja gastar para colecionar e jogar competitivamente. Eu sou um avido colecionador e tambem amo competir. Então pra mim ele pode ser caro. Meu filho e eu dividimos a coleção, então isso ajuda com o custo. Eu acho que heroclix se encaixa no meio em comparação a outros hobbies.

8 - There’s any remarkable match you remember?

Tem alguma partida memorável que você se lembre?

Winning Dragon Con years ago. Wizkids ran Dragon Con at the time and this was the "Big tournament". At this time Feat cards and battlefield condition cards were legal. LAMP teams were very popular and that was what I faced in the finals. I was playing with a very unorthodox team. I was using Hypertime Swamp Thing as my primary piece, a figure no one used. I was able to win this match and it was very close.

PT: Vencer a Dragon Con anos atras. Wizkids fez a Dragon Con e era o "Grande Torneio". Nessa epoca Feats e Battlefield Conditions eram legais. Times L.A.M.P(Lockjaw, Armor Piercing, Mastermind, Poison) eram muitos populares, e foi exatamente oque eu enfrentei na final. Eu estava jogando com um time muito não-ortodoxo. Eu estava usando o Swamp Thing de Hypertime como minha peça primaria, uma figura que ninguem usava. Eu consegui vencer a partida e foi muito disputada.

9 - Do you have plans to come to Brazil?

Você tem planos para vir para o Brasil?

My wife and I would like to vacation in Brazil one day. We have been looking at Brazil for a few years now.

PT: Minha esposa e eu gostariamos de passar férias no Brasil um dia. Temos olhado para o Brasil a uns anos já.

10 - Do you have any favorite figure?

Você tem alguma peça favorita?

My current favorite figure is Banshee. My all time favorite figure would be Rookie Shazam from the Origins set.

PT: Atualmente minha peça favorita é o Banshee. Minha favorita de todos os tempos seria o Rookie Shazam da coleção Origins.

11 - What do you think of the current meta, and what you think will change with the new SM/WW set?

Oque você acha do meta atual, e oque você acha que vai mudar com a nova coleção do Superman/Mulher Maravilha?

I like the meta now but I look forward to the changes that will occur when WOL retires. I love the SM/WW set. There are a lot of figures in this set that will work well with current Meta. I believe these figures will actually become even more powerful when WOL retires.

PT: Eu gosto do meta atual, mas espero  as mudanças que vão ocorrer quando War of Light se aposentar. Eu amo a coleção SM/WW. Tem muitas figuras nessa coleção que vão funcionar bem no meta atual. Eu acredito que essas figuras vão ficar mais fortes ainda quando War of Light cair.

12 - If you can change one rule(or power effect) in heroclix, what would it be?

Se você pudesse mudar uma regra ( ou efeito de poder) no heroclix, qual seria?

Line Of Sight to inverted V square on elevated terrain. I think it is wrong that a figure on a building in a inverted V square cannot be seen and cannot see other figures despite that the figure is on the edge of the building.

PT: Linha de visão para um quadrados em "V invertido"em terreno elevado. Eu acho que é errado que uma figura em uma construção com um quadrado em V Invertido não possa ver ou ser vista por outras figuras a menos que estejam na borda da construção.

13 - If you can design the next heroclix set, what teams/theme/story would you lean towards?

Se você pudesse escolher qual seria o próximo set de heroclix( tema, times, história) qual seria?

That's easy. I want to see a "Kingdom Come" set. This is of course would be based on all the figures in the "Kingdom Come' Comic book. This set would make a great storyline event for WizKids.

PT: Isso é fácil. Eu quero ver uma coleção Kingdom Come (Reino do Amanhã). Isso sem duvidas seria baseado nas figuras do comic "Kingdom Come" (Reino do Amanhã). Esse evento seria um grande evento de linha do tempo( semelhante a War of Light\Age of Ultron\ AvX) para a Wizkids.

14 - If you can bring back one Golden Age character back to Modern Age for the current rotation, who would it be?

Se você pudesse trazer de volta alguma peça do Golden Age qual seria?

"Out of the Shadows Batman". I loved that figure and what he could do. He would still be a viable figure today. I would love to see what he could do with the current resources.

PT: O "out of the Shadows Batman" ( Justice League 01). Eu adorava essa figura e oque ela podia fazer. Ele ainda seria viavel hoje. Eu adoraria ver oque ele poderia fazer com os recursos atuais.

15 - Any advice for the new players?

Algum conselho para os novos jogadores?

Have fun. Do not be afraid to play in large tournaments and against competitive players. This is how you will learn and become better. Many people fear playing higher skilled players. You will find your fear is needless as those players you play will be some of the nicest and kindest players you will ever meet.

PT: Se divirtam. Não tenha medo de jogar grandes torneios e contra jogadores competitivos. Isso é como se aprende a ficar melhor. Muitas pessoas tem medo de jogar contra jogadores de alto nivel. Você vai descobrir que seu medo é desnecessário, pois esses jogadores vai se mostrar as pessoas mais legais e queridas que você já encontrou.
